Allyson
Allyson was born and raised in Irvine, CA to Vietnamese immigrant parents. Growing up, she always understood the importance of community service and helping those in need. Allyson became very involved in Girl Scouts and various clubs at school to help in a multitude of community service projects targeting underrepresented populations. Allyson is a fourth-year student at UCLA studying psychobiology in the hopes of pursuing a career in medicine, particularly pediatrics or obstetrics. At UCLA, she is involved in Vietnamese Community Health, particularly the Patient Education & Wellness Committee, and the Learning Assistant Program to pursue her interests in the intersectionality of education and medicine. Allyson also volunteers at Ronald Reagan Hospital to provide service and care to their patients. In addition, she is an Apartment Resident Assistant to further her interests in community development outside of the medical field.
Allyson joined the Level Up team in the spring of 2023. As a previously registered behavior technician in Orange County who specialized in social behavioral development for children aged 7-10, Allyson was particularly interested in applying such skills to a neurodivergent community of a different age range. As such, her goals as a Direct Support Professional at Level Up are to inspire the participants and to help them become more independent as they transition into adulthood. Outside of work and school, Allyson enjoys hiking, baking, playing tennis, watching TV shows/films, and spending time with family and friends.
