Cidney
Cidney grew up in Palmdale, CA, where she enjoyed playing club soccer and doing gymkhana rodeo. Alongside her family and dogs, she enjoys going camping and visiting National Parks. Throughout high school, she volunteered as a youth referee for AYSO, tutored elementary school students, and worked at a local horse rescue. Her interest in working with people with disabilities was sparked by volunteering at Saddle Up, a therapeutic horse-riding center for people with disabilities. There, she saw firsthand the joy and empowerment that inclusive, community-based programs can bring, and she was inspired to pursue a career centered around the same idea.
She is currently a third-year student at UCLA, where she majors in psychobiology and minors in disability studies. During her first two years at UCLA, she studied abroad in Copenhagen, played intramural sports, and participated in the Sports Medicine Internship program. Now, she is a leader for Young Life Capernaum, serves as the challenge committee head for the Survivor club, and is a member of the Mixed Berries club on campus.
After graduating, Cidney plans to pursue a master's degree in occupational therapy, where she aims to develop the skills necessary to provide personalized care that promotes inclusivity and supports self-determination.
Joining the Level Up Team in 2025 as a Direct Support Professional, she is excited to be a mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement for individuals with disabilities as they work toward greater independence and community involvement.
