Courtney

Courtney was born in Taiwan and raised in Victorville, California. In her free time, she enjoys playing music, traveling, and exploring cafes and restaurants around Los Angeles. Her interest in helping others began in high school when she founded the Music Box Outreach Association, an organization that used music and conversation to build relationships with isolated residents in senior homes. Since beginning college, Courtney has continued her mission of serving the community.

As a Biology major on the pre-health track at UCLA, Courtney focuses on the biological etiology, behavioral impacts, and patient advocacy of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders. This interest is largely driven by her desire to contribute to research that will advance clinical understanding and improve outcomes for these individuals. She applies this focus as an undergraduate researcher at the Golshani Lab. She also serves as the Director of Finance for Bruins for the Institute on Aging, where she volunteers with and helps manage the organization's alignment with the Institute on Aging’s Friendship Line, a 24-hour crisis and warmline dedicated to supporting isolated older adults, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities. Currently, she also volunteers at Cedars-Sinai as part of their Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB) team.

Courtney joined the Level Up team as a Direct Support Professional, which is a role that aligns with both her volunteer background and her personal life. Since she grew up with an older brother diagnosed with Asperger’s, she recognizes the profound impact of having motivated, well-suited caregivers. She is excited to support adults with disabilities and is dedicated to meeting their individual needs.
